The San Francisco Giants have acquired superstar third baseman and former MVP Kris Bryant from the Chicago Cubs in the closing moments of the MLB Trade Deadline on Friday, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan.
The Giants are currently leading the National League West division by three games entering play on Friday.
Bryant is hitting hitting .267 with 18 home runs and 51 RBIs this season with the Cubs, the only team he has played for during his career. Bryant had won Rookie of the Year and MVP in consecutive seasons and fueled the Cubs in breaking their 108-championship drought by guiding them to a World Series title back in 2016.
