The second stint for veteran starter Jake Arrieta with the Chicago Cubs ended with his release today.
Arrieta started for the Cubs on Wednesday and was hammered to the tune of 11 hits and 8 runs, 7 of which came in the first inning. Arrieta only lasted four innings in the 10-0 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers.
Arietta has posted a 5-11 record and a 6.88 ERA this season.
The loss to Milwaukee was his seventh straight and has posted a 9.92 ERA since his last win back in May.
