Chicago Cubs new starter Marcus Stroman is already hard at work in recruiting other free agent players to join him in Chicago with his new team, and he is specifically focusing in on free agent shortstop Carlos Correa, one of the premier free agents on the market.
Due to the lockout, Correa has been unable to sign with a new team, and when the lockout does eventually end it is expected that Correa, who has spent his entire career with the Houston Astros, will be seeking a 10-year deal that will exceed $300 million.
For what it’s worth, Stroman is using social media to let Correa know that the Cubs would welcome him with open arms. Although Chicago has not been considered a landing spot for Correa, they possibly could jump in the mix.
Need you in Chicago my dawg! @TeamCJCorrea https://t.co/JihQciRvai
