The New York Yankees have acquired right-hander Scott Effross from the Chicago Cubs in a trade that went down on Monday, ahead of the MLB trade deadline, according to YES Network insider Jack Curry.
Effross, 28, has been stellar since the Cubs called him up to the Major League roster back in 2021, and he is pitching to the tune of a 2.66 ERA with a 1.068 WHIP over 44.0 innings pitched this season for Chicago.
As part of the trade, the Yankees are sending right-hander Hayden Wesneski to the Cubs, according to The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal.
