The Chicago Cubs and veteran right hander Jameson Taillon agreed to a four-year, $69 million contract that will bring the former New York Yankee back to the National League where he previously played during his tenure with the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Taillon was a 14-game winner for the Pirates back in 2018.
According to ESPN’s Jesse Rogers, Taillon now slides into a rotation that includes Marcus Stroman and Kyle Hendricks and is yet another addition for the Cubs who also signed Cody Bellinger to a deal.
Taillon, 31, had a bounce back year for the Yankees last season, one of the best of his career, going 14-5 with a 3.91 ERA and striking out 151 in 171⅓ innings.
