The New York Yankees are keeping their general manager in place, agreeing to a new four-year contract with longtime general manager Brian Cashman that will keep him with the organization through the 2026 season.
Cashman, 55, will retain the title of senior vice president and general manager and is the longest-serving general manager in franchise history.
The Yankees have posted a winning record in each of Cashman’s 25 seasons as general manager, but haven’t won a World Series since 2009, and the last few seasons Cashman has been havily criticized for his reliant on building rosters favoring the homerun.
Cashman will be intricate as the Yankees attempt to retain MVP slugger Aaron Judge.
