The New York Yankees continue to battle the injury bug, for yet another season, and the injuries continue their troubling trend as the Yankees will be without MVP slugger Aaron Judge for a few days.
According to MLB.com’s Bryan Hoch, Judge missed Sunday’s victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers due to a to a foot injury that occurred when Judge busted into a Dodger Stadium gate during Saturday’s contest while making an epic catch.
Yankees manager Aaron Boone was asked about Judge’s status and if his current injury will warrant a stint on the injured list.
“I don’t know” Boone said. “Not at this point. We’ll see how he is today, tomorrow, and the next day,”
The Yankees will have an off-day on Monday, giving Judge two days to recover, as they hope that the slugger can avoid being on the injured list and missing more time. Judge has easily been the Yankees best player this season and the reason for their success.
The Yankees are also dealing with injuries to starting pitcher Nestor Cortes, who was ruled out on Sunday due to shoulder soreness. Additionally, Ryan Weber and outfielder Greg Allen have been placed on the injury list due to their injuries.
