Confidence is running high in Oakland, especially in regards to Raiders’ starting quarterback Derek Carr, who has had quite a season filled with late game heroics.
Carr found wide receiver Michael Crabtree, Crabtree’s 3rd touchdown catch of the game, with under 3 minutes left in the game, leading the Oakland Raiders to a 28-27 victory over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.
The win pushed Oakland to 3-1, with all 3 wins coming on the road marking the team’s first three-game road win streak since 2011.
Carr has been phenomenal this season, helping validate the hype that surrounded the Raiders all offseason.
“DC is the chosen one,” Khalil Mack said, via CSN Bay Area. “He did it again. He pulled it out for us. Defensively, we wanted to be sure we held it out for them at the end.”
With the defense being a huge disappointment all season and with a lack of a running game, Carr threw four touchdowns on 25-of-35 passing for just 199 yards passing. Carr posted a 123.4 passer rating.
“We have confidence that No. 4 can get it done and leads,” Oakland head coach Jack Del Rio said. “He’s very poised making decisions. There was some tough sledding there against a really good defense, and he just continues to play at a high level. He’s really good getting his feet right to make accurate throws.
“Smart, tough and accurate. That’s what we have in Derek Carr.”
Carr has been the difference maker for Oakland and a big reason why they are off to such a promising start.
