Denver Broncos quarterback Teddy Bridgewater spent the night in a Denver-area hospital after he was stretchered off the field following sustaining a head injury during the third quarter of Denver’s loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.
Bridgewater suffered the injury while diving for a first down, landing face down on to the field. Bridgewater would not move for several moments before Broncos’ medical staff strapped him to a backboard before taking him off the field on a cart.
“Everything has checked out good up to this point,” Broncos head coach Vic Fangio said, according to ESPN’s Jeff Legwold. “They think he should be and will be fine.”
“When you see a guy like Teddy go down, that hurts, man,” Broncos safety Justin Simmons said after the game. “We know what Teddy puts into it, he’s such a big voice in our locker room, it hurts, obviously, from a football standpoint, it hurts as a leader, but just as a friend, a guy that invests into you so much, it hurts to see.”
“Everybody in that locker room is happy to hear Teddy’s all right,” Broncos backup quarterback Drew Lock said.
At time time, there is no information regarding Bridgewater’s status for Sunday’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
