Philadelphia 76ers superstar center Joel Embiid has undergone two surgeries to address two separate issues after playing through a lot of pain during the Sixers playoff run this past season, according to an official team announcement.
According to the team, Embiid, the 76ers franchise cornerstone, underwent surgery on Monday to repair the right thumb injury he suffered in the playoffs and also had another procedure done on his left index finger.
Embiid also dealt with a left facial fracture and a concussion during the Sixers first round series against the Toronto Raptors, which forced him to miss two games for their series against the Miami Heat.
The surgeries are not expected to have any impact on Embiid’s availability for training camp later this fall.
