Despite a disappointing stint with the Sacramento Kings that forced a mid-season trade last season, Marvin Bagley III has found a home with the Detroit Pistons and the team is prepared to pony up the cash to keep him in town.
According to Bleacher Report, Bagley is expected to re-sign with the team that traded for him at the trade deadline, and his contract will be above the $10 million average in annual value, which is a great contract to entice him to stay.
“Marvin Bagley III is expected to return to Detroit on a deal north of $10 million in average annual value.” that’s a sizable contract to remain with the Pistons, as he’d likely serve as the top option in the post for the team. Furthermore, it sounds like the deal might be, “potentially in a structure similar to Kelly Oubre Jr.’s two-year agreement with [the] Charlotte [Hornets] last summer.”
Detroit is putting in work this offseason to solidify their young core and build the necessary pieces around them to become more competitive next season.
