The Detroit Pistons are looking more and more likely to buy-out All-Star forward Blake Griffin as the trade market is not proving to be very fruitful despite the team actively shopping him, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
With the trade market not generating much interest, the Pistons are expected to work toward a contract buyout with Griffin, as well as sharpshooter Wayne Ellington. Both players are expected to receive interest from playoff-contending teams.
Detroit may also be trading forward Jerami Grant ahead of the NBA Trade Deadline.
Griffin could generate interest on the free agent market from the Boston Celtics, Portland Trail Blazers, Utah Jazz, or the Los Angeles Lakers.
