The Golden State Warriors are crossing their fingers and hoping for the best as superstar guard Stephen Curry was forced to exit the Warriors’ win over the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday night at the end of third quarter due to an injury.
According to ESPN’s Kendra Andrews, Curry suffered an apparent left knee injury and immediately received an X-ray, which came back negative, the team announced, and Curry will now await an MRI.
Curry suffered the injury with 2:01 left in the third quarter after his left knee collided with Mavericks’ guard McKinley Wright IV’s knee. Curry immediately limped to the bench where he was met by two team trainers.
“Any time a guy gets an MRI, there’s a concern level,” Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said. “We’ll just have to wait and see the results. … This has happened many, many times over the years. So fingers crossed he’s OK.”
“If he’s out, then we move forward and we do have some games to look at, some game film to look at,” Kerr said. “We’ll be ready, regardless.”
