New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley has been shelved since he suffered a season-ending knee injury back in Week 2 against the Chicago Bears, and there has been an update (sort of) regarding his return.
According to the New York Post’s Paul Schwartz, Barkley says that he has no target date for his return to the filed from a torn ACL, but is taking the process one day at a time.
There is no overstating Barkley’s importance to the Giants, as he has posted two consecutive 1,400+ rushing yard seasons prior to this one, and is a focal point of their offense.
Fortunately, the Giants have seen some production from running back Wayne Gallman in his absence, but Barkley is an elite building block for the organization’s future.
