While the NBA world is talking about the Patrick Beverley shove to the back of Phoenix Suns center Deandre Ayton, tucked away in the Los Angeles Lakers loss to Phoenix on Tuesday night was the epic performance of Lakers big man Anthony Davis.
Davis, who has struggled at times this season, poured in an other-worldly 37 points, 21 rebounds, 5 blocks, and 5 steals, becoming the first player to record 35 points, 20 rebounds, 5 blocks & 5 steals since blocks & steals became official in 1973-74.
While the season started slow for Davis, he has turned it on over the last five games, averaging 30.0 points on 58.1 percent shooting from the field, 15.0 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.8 blocks for the Lakers during that stretch.
Unfortunately, getting in the win column has been hard for the Lakers, who suffered another loss on Tuesday to fall to 5-11 on the season, the second-worst record in the Western Conference thus far.
The Lakers will look to turn things around as the play the San Antonio Spurs next.
