Los Angeles Lakers big man DeMarcus Cousins has suffered a “possible” knee injury and will undergo further testing, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Cousins, who signed with the Lakers this summer, suffered the potential knee injury while he was working out in Las Vegas on Monday.
Given Cousins’ recent ruptured Achilles injury, which he suffered during the 2017-2018 season while with the New Orleans Pelicans, and how it limited him to only 30 games last season with the Golden State Warriors, the news is cause for concern.
Cousins hasn’t played more than 75 games in a season since his rookie season and has suffered a quad injury during the Warriors’ playoff run last season that kept him out from Game 2 of the opening series until their NBA Finals loss to the Toronto Raptors.
Furthermore, Cousins hasn’t shown the form he did prior to the Achilles injury.
Last season for the Warriors, Cousins averaged 16.3 points, 8.2 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game.
