The Phoenix Suns are welcoming back superstar forward Kevin Durant who is set to finally make his home debut after missing the last three weeks, as the Suns take on the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night.
Durant was out the last three weeks due to a left ankle sprain he suffered during warmups back on March 8th when he slipped on the floor and turned his ankle, forcing Durant to miss the following 10 games after only playing in 3 after the Suns acquired him a blockbuster trade with the Brooklyn Nets at the trade deadline.
“I always use the term checking the boxes,” Williams’ said of Durant’s return from injury, according to ESPN. “You have to get the pain and swelling out and all of that and then you progress onto the floor with shots. And I’ve seen him go from cardio to shooting to be able to get up and down a little bit and get himself prepared to go to the next level.”
Durant was electric during his first three game with the Suns, and the Suns looked like a championship team with Durant in the fold, as he averaged 26.7 points per game while shooting an impressive 69% from the field.
Durant returning will be a major boost for the Suns who have struggled during their 10-game stretch without Durant, losing 6 of their last 10 games. Phoenix is currently battling to keep their fourth spot in the Western Conference seedings.
