Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts has provided an update on starter Clayton Kershaw and the news isn’t exactly the best for the long-time ace after he was abruptly placed on the injured list last week due to an SI joint injury.
“Just kind of where he’s at right now, he doesn’t feel — we don’t feel — that it makes any sense [to throw a bullpen],” Roberts said of Kershaw, according to MLB.com. “I don’t know when the next go at this will be. But I don’t see it in the next few days.”
Kershaw, 34, is expected to return in early-mid June and the team had hoped that Kershaw would being throwing sooner than later, but he is reportedly recovering at a slower speed than originally anticipated.
It is unclear, at this time, when exactly Kershaw will be back on the mound for the Dodgers, but that June timeline may prove to be too soon.
