In the wake of the injury suffered by quarterback Jared Goff, the Los Angeles Rams will be brining back veteran quarterback Blake Bortles, who the team plans to sign off of the Denver Broncos practice squad.
Goff will be sidelined by a thumb injury and is set to undergo surgery, and the Rams officially announced that Goff would miss the critical upcoming game against the Arizona Cardinals.
According to The Athletic’s Jourdan Rodrigue, Bortles will be brought on board as contingency depth with current backup John Wolford set to start, and Bryce Perkins, who is promoted from the practice squad, backing him up.
Bortles played last season with the Rams, and appeared in three games during the 2019 season.
