Following the blockbuster trade that sent Matthew Stafford from the Detroit Lions to the Los Angeles Rams, a report surfaced that stated Stafford told the Lions that he did not want to be traded to the New England Patriots, and that has not set well with former Patriots linebacker and current NFL analyst Tedy Brushi who is sharing his thoughts on Stafford’s position.
“He’s not tough enough to play here. He’s just not tough enough,” Bruschi said, according to Ryan Hannable of The Ticket 97.1 FM. “I don’t think he’s tough enough to be coached hard. Do you realize the mental toughness that Tom Brady had to have for 20 years to deal with Bill Belichick and that type of coaching? I mean, constant pressure every single day. Does Stafford sort of grab you as a guy who could handle that? I just don’t think so.”
The Rams certainly disagree, paying a hefty price to being in Stafford, while moving on from Jared Goff, as they look to make a run at a Super Bowl title with Stafford under center moving forward.
