The Chicago Bulls are eyeing a potential contract extension for All-Star DeMar DeRozan, who has been the consistent bright spot for an organization that has had issues of late which include the loss of Lonzo Ball for the entire season.
Bulls general manager Marc Eversley spoke about the organization’s stance on providing DeRozan an extension.
“DeMar’s been great. He’s been terrific for this group, not only on the court but off the court,” Eversley said, according to The Athletic’s Darnell Mayberry. “He’s been a leader. I would love DeMar to be part of this program long term. Let’s see how that plays out and what that looks like going forward. … He’s been an integral part of this program’s success. We hope he is here long term.”
While DeRozan, 34, remains a focal point of the Bulls, there have been no formal contract negotiations. However, this should be a topic among NBA journalists who cover the Bulls as the season arrives.
