The Cleveland Browns have to move forward following the loss of superstar running back Nick Chubb who suffered a season-ending injury during the second quarter of the Browns’ loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night.
With Chubb out, the Browns are now turning to Jerome Ford to serve as their featured running back, which had fantasy football owners hitting the waiver wires on sports social media and fantasy platforms.
Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said the Browns are “working on” adding another player to the running back room while stating that Ford would be taking over for Chubb, according to ESPN’s Jake Trotter.
The Browns are bringing in Kareem Hunt for a visit on Tuesday. Hunt played for the Browns the past four seasons. Ford rushed for 106 yards on 16 carries Monday against the Steelers and caught three passes for 25 yards including a touchdown.
“You don’t replace Nick Chubb,” Stefanski said. “You just don’t do that. Great players in the league, you look around, they go out. It’s always not one person that replaces a player of [Chubb’s] caliber. So, everybody’s got to do a little bit more, a little bit more everywhere.”
