The Oakland Raiders sure love having a plethora of quarterbacks at their disposal.
The Raiders claimed quarterback Deshone Kizer off waivers from the Green Bay Packers on Sunday making him the 4th quarterback currently on the roster.
Kizer joins starter Derek Carr, Mike Glennon, and Nathan Peterman, for now, as members of the Raiders 53-man roster.
Raiders general manager Mike Mayock spoke with reporters back on Saturday about a potential plan in place to keep three quarterbacks on the roster.
“When you work with Jon Gruden, it probably is,” Mayock said, according to ESPN’s Paul Guitierrez. “And yeah, I mean, bottom line is that Jon loves his quarterbacks, does a great job developing them, and I think we pretty much knew all along, especially if all three of them played the way they did, I think it became obvious that we were going to go with three.”
Oakland played the Packers during the preseason, and Kizer went 4 for 7 for 24 yards for Green Bay during the game.
Apparently, the Raiders liked what they saw.
