The Houston Texans are not expected to trade franchise quarterback Deshaun Watson as team’s make final cuts for their 52-man rosters on Tuesday, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero.
Per the report, barring a dramatic turn, Houston is poised to keep Watson on the roster into the regular season.
Watson has a standing trade request, remains under investigation by both the NFL and police, and is facing 22 separate civil lawsuits which prompted those investigations. However, in recent days Watson had been rumored to be on the move again, with the Miami Dolphins considered to be the front runners.
At least for now, Watson is still a member of the Texans.
