Houston Texans head coach Bill O’Brien says that the organization is hard at work at a long-term contract extension for franchise quarterback Deshaun Watson.
“We’re working hard,” O’Brien said,via the Houston Chronicle’s Aaron Wilson. “We feel so strongly about him in this offense, in this organization. We want him here for a long time.”
Although O’Brien has received heavy criticism for his trades involving the departure of All-Pro wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, he seems to have his sights set on keeping Watson in Houston for years to come.
