New York Giants defensive lineman Leonard Williams is entering the 2020 NFL season without a long-term deal in place, but he is keeping a positive mindset moving forward.
“I wouldn’t say it was disappointing,’’ Williams said, according to The New York Post. “I kind of knew the situation I was coming off of last year. I think it’s actually a good opportunity for myself. I’m looking at it as an opportunity. I’m not looking at it as something that’s bad. I’m looking at it as an opportunity.’’
Williams was acquired last season via trade from the New York Jets, so it seems that the Giants will continue to work on a long-term contract to keep Williams a Giant for the future.
“I don’t let too much outside noise get to me,’’ Williams continued. “I just try to work hard, keep the blinders on and keep working and doing what I can do.”
