The Las Vegas Raiders are planning to move forward with veteran quarterback Derek Carr as their signal caller, according to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport.
Carr, and eight-year veteran, will again undergo a coaching change with the franchise, but he continues to factor into the team’s plans as the Raiders organization is reportedly prepared to offer Carr a contract extension.
Las Vegas hired New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels as their new head coach, and hired Patriots’ director of player personnel Dave Ziegler as their new general manager as well.
Carr, who remains under contract with the Raiders through the 2022 season, became the first player in the NFL to average $25 million when he inked a new deal with the Raiders back in 2017 and could be looking at a deal with an annual salary within the $40 million range
