The Chicago Bears will not be utilizing the franchise tag on star wide receiver Allen Robinson, who is not set to hit unrestricted free agency following a 2021 season where he played under the franchise tag, according to ESPN’s Courtney Cronin.
While Robinson has arguably been the Bears best offensive player during his tenure, but has often clashed with team brass throughout the years. Robinson also had issues with former Bears head coach Matt Nagy.
Robinson is coming off a down year where he collected only 38 receptions for 410 yards and a single touchdown, down significantly from his 1,100+ season in 2019 and 2020.
