The Chicago Bears have acquired wide receiver Chase Claypool from the Pittsburgh Steelers ahead of the NFL trade deadline on Tuesday, according to ESPN’s Field Yates.
As part of the trade, the Bears will send the Steelers a second round draft pick.
Claypool’s name became a hot topic leading up to today, with a number of teams bidding for him. That interest drove the price up, as there were reports that Claypool could be had for a third round draft pick.
Claypool adds a much needed weapon for Bears quarterback Justin Fields, and became a “must have” as the Bears could not find a reliable weapon, and the 2023 free agent class looking lackluster.
