The San Francisco Giants appear to be making a hard push to sign veteran right hander Alex Cobb, according to the San Francisco Chronicle’s Susan Slusser.
Should the Giants finalize a deal with the 34-year old Cobb, he will join a rotation that will have to address the free agencies of starters Kevin Gausman, Alex Wood, Anthony DeSclafani and Johnny Cueto.
Cobb started the 2021 season with the Baltimore Orioles before being traded to the Los Angeles Angels, and turned in one of the best seasons of his entire career, pitching to a 3.76 ERA with a 24.9% strikeout rate.
