The New Orleans Pelicans may be ready to pounce on another blockbuster trade, following their trade of superstar Anthony Davis to the Los Angeles Lakers over the weekend.
According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, the Pelicans are eyeing Washington Wizards superstar Bradley Beal, whom they are “monitoring in a potential trade.”
Charania’s report goes on to say that Beal has been a target for the Pelicans for months and they are hoping to build around him.
New Orleans certainly has the assets to approach the Wizards for a trade centered on Beal including the 4th overall pick in this week’s NBA Draft, which they have been rumored to be making available.
The Pelicans acquired Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart and two other first-round picks in their deal with the Lakers that sent Davis to Los Angeles.
Beal has two years remaining on his contract and is scheduled to make $27.1 million next season
