The Chicago Bears are looking to strike on a golden opportunity to land a premier franchise quarterback and one that has expressed his desire to land in Chicago.
According to the Chicago Tribune’s Brad Briggs, the Bears are planning to prioritize making a trade for Seattle Seahawks superstar quarterback Russell Wilson, who listed the Bears as one of his acceptable destinations.
With Wilson upset with the Seahawks, and the organization at the very least open to the idea of trading their franchise signal caller, the Bears could put an end to years of less-than stellar play at the sports most important position.
According to the Seattle Times’ Bob Condotta, the Seahawks do not currently want to trade Wilson, as doing so would hit the team with $39 million in dead money if a trade was made prior to June 1st.
Additionally, Wilson has not officially requested a trade, but the situation doesn’t appear to be trending in the right direction for the Seahawks. If Wilson is available, he is likely going to fetch a bigger haul than the deals that involved Matthew Stafford and Carson Wentz, so the Bears better be ready to pony up if they truly want Wilson under center moving forward.
