San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo will miss the remainder of the season after he suffered a broken left foot early in the second half during Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins, according to ESPN’s Nick Wagoner.
It’s a devastating blow for the 49ers, who are already without Trey Lance due to injury, and for Garoppolo, who was enjoying one of the better stretches of his career, and has dealt with a number of issues throughout his career. Garoppolo started every game since Lance’s injury and led the Niners went 7-3 during his 10 starts.
Rookie Brock Purdy replaced Garoppolo and is now the starter, unless the Niners make an additional move.
