For the Carolina Panthers, any hope of having linebacker Luke Kuechly being available for Sunday’s game against the San Diego Chargers has been erased.
Kuechly was a full participant in Friday’s practice for the first time since suffering an injury back on November 17th in a game against the New Orleans Saints.
Despite the small glimmer of hope the team officially announced that Kuechly hasn’t been cleared from the league’s concussion protocol and will not play in Sunday’s game.
“You always keep your fingers crossed,” Panthers head coach Ron Rivera said Friday.
A.J. Klein will make his third start in place of Kuechly.
