Caldwell-Pope is heading to Orlando

The Orlando Magic are looking to do some big work this offseason and kicked it all off in finalizing a three-year, $66 million deal with free agent Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Caldwell-Pope, 31, had been an integral part, on both ends of the court, during this two-year tenure with the Denver Nuggets that included helping them win their first ever NBA Championship in 2022-2023 with his stellar defense and efficiency from three-point land.

Per ESPN, Caldwell-Pope eclipsed 40% from deep while also playing in 76 games during his run in Denver, but was just as impactful on defense where he  allowed a league-best 40.6% field goal percentage as the closest defender last season despite often being tasked with the toughest defensive assignment.

Caldwell-Pope averaged 10.1 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game last season in Denver.
