The Philadelphia 76ers have hit back on disgruntled All-Star guard James Harden following Harden’s controversial comments regarding the organization and Sixers’ president of basketball operations, Daryl Morey.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Harden has been fined $100,000 for his comments.
The NBA officially announced the fine shortly thereafter, clarifying that Harden is being fined both for his comments about Morey, which have been the talking point for NBA journalists, as well as his comments regarding his relationship with the team, which Harden says is beyond repair.
Harden’s fine is the maximum amount a player can be fined for comments such as these, according to ESPN’s Bobby Marks.
Harden clearly wants out of Philly, and following the Sixers ending trade talks with the Los Angeles Clippers it seems that the drama between the Sixers and Harden may boil over into the regular season.
