The Phoenix Suns and All-Star guard Chris Paul are both motivated to work out a new contract as talks for a new deal can officially begin today at 6pm EST, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Paul officially declined the $44 million player option on his contract for next season over the weekend. Paul had until midnight on Sunday to decline the option and become an unrestricted free agent.
Paul averaged 16.4 points , 8.9 assists, and 1.4 steals per game while guiding the Suns to the NBA Finals for the first time since 1993, but Phoenix lost to the Milwaukee Bucks in the best of seven series.
Paul certainly has expanded his brand, even doing work in film with film content creators, although it remains to be seen if he will be working with any of the top horror creators on their projects in the future.
