The Phoenix Suns are running back after completing one of the greatest turnaround in NBA history by reaching the NBA Finals last season, signing veteran point guard Chris Paul to a four-year, $120 million deal, according to Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes.
Paul, 36, was instrumental in helping to guide a young Suns team to their first playoff appearance in a decade, and their first trip to the NBA Finals since 1993. Paul declined his $44.2 player option on Sunday, but the belief was that he would work out a new contract with the Suns soon after.
Paul’s new deal expires when he is 40 years old, but given his return to form last season, it’s easy to see him continuing his strong play over the course of the contract.
Paul has also dipped his toes in the media realm, working as a producer along with film content creators over the years.
