Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell was once part of a star tandem with Minnesota Timberwolves big man Rudy Gobert, while the two were both with the Utah Jazz, and rumors circulated that the two had a legit beef with one another.
Mitchell is now shooting down those reports.
“How would we handle being in the bubble together?” Mitchell said of his relationship with Gobert and the reported beef, during an appearance on JJ Redick’s podcast. “To be honest with you, our relationship got better after Covid, because I understood what the hell he was taking about. Our relationship grew after the Covid situation. We got better on the floor, we got better as a team.”
Despite no beef existing, the reports from the media did not stop, and was even the topic on a number of sports talk podcasts. However, Mitchell said there was no truth to them.
“Him and I, I think it was blown way out of proportion,” Mitchell added.
