The Tennessee Titans have signed veteran free agent safety Quandre Diggs to a one-year contract that can be worth up to $5 million and will now compete for a starting spot, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Diggs is now set to battle fourth-year player Elijah Molden for the starting safety spot next to Amani Hooker.
Diggs, 31, was released by the Seattle Seahawks back on March 5th in a cap-saving move that freed up 11$ million in cap space for Seattle. Diggs lands on a Titans team that will reunite him with former Seahawks’ teammate Jamal Adams.
Diggs said that he and Adams talked every day over the summer break and hoped to be teammates again. Now they get their opportunity.
Diggs was selected to three straight Pro Bowls (2020 to 2022) with the Seahawks and had 18 interceptions throughout his tenure in Seattle. He is coming off a season in which posted posted a career-best 95 tackles.
