The New York Giants won’t be getting involved in trade talks for Houston Texans superstar quarterback Deshaun Watson and will move forward with Daniel Jones under center, according to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan.
With the decision, the Giants are remaining fully committed to Jones as their franchise quarterback, despite middling results. With the Giants retaining offensive coordinator Jason Garrett, despite lackluster numbers, it appears as it will be more of the same for the Giants next season.
Jones’ contract runs through 2022, which makes the 2021 season pivotal for the Jones and the team as it will go a long way in determining if the Giants will pick up Jones’ fifth-year option in 2022.
