Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes says that his injured toe is close to 100% ahead of the Chiefs Super Bowl matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers taking place this Sunday.
Mahomes suffered the injury in the divisional round against the Cleveland Browns, the game he was also forced into the concussion protocol following a hit he received on a running play. Mahomes was eventually cleared in time for the Chiefs’ AFC Championship game against the Buffalo Bills, and led the Chiefs to the win and their second straight Super Bowl appearance.
Mahomes said the toe is feeling “a lot better” and that he’s “pretty close to 100 percent” as game day closes in.
