The New York Jets offensive line hasn’t looked very good during preseason action which has led to many NFL journalists speculating that the Jets should scour the market for potential upgrades along the line as the regular season quickly approaches.
While the Jets biggest move of late has been the addition of All-Pro running back Dalvin Cook, their more pressing need may be along that line, and with players like Cook and future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers now in Gotham, the offensive line’s performance is even more important.
The Jets haven’t been linked to any potential moves to upgrade the line as of yet, but one future Hall of Famer is offering his help.
Former Philadelphia Eagles tackle Jason Peters, who has spent around two decades in the league and is not planning to retire despite being 41 years of age.
“They give me the call, I’m gonna show up and show out. That’s what I do. I’m a straight professional when it comes to that. Helping the young guys- if they want me to sit, you know I’ll sit,” Peters said, during an appearance on Good Morning Football.
But the Jets aren’t the only team on Peters’ radar.
“I’m from Texas, and half of my family are Cowboys fans, so I had to be on both sides of the fence all my life. Dallas gave me an opportunity, and it made my family a dream come true to put the star on,” he said.
Peters name may be called as the regular season kicks off, injuries happen, and certainly if there continue to be offensive line struggles.
