The New York Jets are signing veteran defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins to a two-year, $17 million contract, according to NFL Network insider Mike Garafolo.
Rankins, a former first round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, had spent his career with the New Orleans Saints, but was hampered by Achilles and MCL injuries over the years. Rankins has missed a total of 10 games over the last two seasons.
Rankins, 26, will now get a chance to get his career back on track in New York, along a defensive line that includes the likes of Quinnen Williams and Folorunso Fatukasi.
