San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey shared his thoughts on the contract situations of New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley and Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs, who both may sit out all of training camp and potentially a chunk of the regular season.
Both Barkley and Jacobs were unable to reach contract agreements with their respective teams and both now face the decision of signing their franchise tag, but neither running back is likely to do so anytime soon, if at all.
McCaffrey shared his thoughts in a tweet posted to his official Twitter page, creating a buzz on every sports talk app in the process.
“This is Criminal. Three of the best PLAYERS in the entire league, regardless of position”, McCaffrey said.
McCaffrey leads the league’s running backs with the $16 million average annual value of his contract, so he is certainly rooting for his fellow running backs to cash in as well, despite teams not willing to give their backs the big deals that they once were.
