New Orleans Pelicans superstar forward Zion Williamson exited Monday night’s 120-111 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers during the third quarter due to a right hamstring strain, according to ESPN’s Andrew Lopez.
Williamson suffered the injury while gathering a defensive rebound off a shot from Sixers big man Joel Embiid, and when attempting to quickly push the ball up court, he pulled up as soon as he crossed the half court line and handed the ball off to teammate Dyson Daniels while grabbing his right leg.
Williamson had 26 points, seven assists and six rebounds in the game.
“It was right at a pivotal moment in the game,” Pelicans head coach Willie Green said. “We’ll get some imaging and look at him and hopefully he’s OK. It was a tough loss for us.”
